Valencia set for talks with Tottenham Hotspur over Bryan Gil

Valencia are set for talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a potential deal for Bryan Gil, per report.

Gil was an amazingly popular player during his time at the Valencia, where he had a successful loan. However, Valencia didn’t have good performances last season. They finished mid-ranking in La Liga and both the manager, Jose Bordelas, and Valencia chairman Anil Murthy were sacked this summer. Gattuso who is the former Spurs managerial, was appointed manager in June.

Gattuso is seeking to strengthen his team before next season and seems to have a good impression on Gil’s performance at Valencia. Romano has taken to Twitter to suggest that talks between Valencia and Tottenham over Gil are imminent. And the winger is also on the radar of Real Sociedad. But It remains to be seen if Sociedad’s approach will be taken seriously.

The 21-year-old has struggled at Spurs since moving here from Sevilla last summer. It is not clear whether Gil will leave on loan or permanently. However, the player only signed with Tottenham last year on a five-year contract and so, it is safe to predict that a permanent transfer would either be unlikely or require a considerable fee.

Gil has the potential to be a ‘superstar‘. But it simply appears that he is not in Conte’s plan currently.

Another loan move to Spain will help in certain ways. It is a league he knows well. So that may restore his confidence and see his worth increase again.

On the other hand, he has proved himself in La Liga. So perhaps, a loan move elsewhere would make more sense if he is still hoping to make records at Tottenham.
