Tottenham Hotspur have officially confirmed Alfie Devine has signed a new long-term contract with Antonio Conte’s side to stay at the club until 2027.

Alfie Devine joined Tottenham Hotspur from Wigan on 28 July 2020. The 18-year-old became the club’s youngest-ever player and goalscorer at senior level when he scored Marine in the FA Cup tie in January 2021.

The young talent has been highly praised over the various youth age groups at Hotspur Way. Devine scored 11 goals in just 22 appearances in all competitions last season for Tottenham at youth level, and is considered one of the brightest up-and-coming talents at N17.

Considering the sheer amount of talent that Devine seems to possess, it is no surprise to see that Tottenham were keen on extending his contract. And in fact, they already confirmed the new contract signing with the forward-thinking midfielder. Devine is expected to get more first team opportunities throughout the 2022/23 season.

Hopefully, Devine could get a place in Antonio Conte’s 25-man UEFA Champions League squad through Tottenham’s ‘List B’ if Conte wish to give the youngster a chance.

Although Devine still has a lot of work to do before he can truly be compared to the £103m-rated Fernandes, it seemed as if the 18-year-old is on the right way to emulating the Portugal international’s returns to the top.
