Tottenham Hotspur are considering a bid for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to the report.

Just when you thought Antonio Conte’s trolley dash for the summer was complete, he’s setting off on a second lap of his supermarket sweep. Reports claim that Conte is a huge admirer of the Serbian international and Spurs are lining up a £38m offer, rising to £50.7m with add-ons, for the 27-year-old.

The midfielder performed well for Lazio last season, scoring 11 goals and 12 assists in total 47 appearances.

Milinkovic-Savic also impressed in his side’s 2022-23 Serie A opener against Bologna on Sunday, providing an assist in a 2-1 win.

The 27-year-old only has two years left on his contract, and Lazio may have to consider cashing in now to get the best value out of any deal.

Report suggested Tottenham are now considering bidding for Milinkovic-Savic with the money set aside for Nicolo Zaniolo, as former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho wants to keep the young Italian.

However, Tottenham aren’t close to a deal yet, and with Juventus also interested in the Serb, Milinkovic-Savic’ future remains to be seen.

Tottenham, who have picked up four points from their first two matches of the new Premier League season, have been busy during this summer’s transfer window, bringing in Clement Lenglet, Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Djed Spence, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison.
