Nottingham Forest explore loan deal for Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham Hotspur

Nottingham Forest are interested in Sergio Reguilon and exploring a loan for Tottenham full-back Sergio Reguilon this summer.

The 25-year-old has found himself down the pecking order in Antonio Conte’s squad, with Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic ahead of him in the race for the left wing spot.

Since joining Tottenham Hotspur with a £27million deal after loan move to Sevilla in 2020, Reguilon has made 67 appearances for the club, scoring only two goals in the process. Antonio Conte just doesn’t seem to fancy Reguilon and actually ruled him out of Tottenham’s pre-season tour to South Korea. It’s obvious that Reguilon needs to leave Tottenham to get back on track.

Lazio and Villarreal have also showed interest in the 25-year-old, who is surplus to requirements at Tottenham.

Forest are now hoping to swoop in and win the race. Nottingham have been one of the big stories of the summer transfer window, having already signed 16 players after winning promotion to the Premier League to rebuild Steve Cooper‘s squad. A pre-season injury to Omar Richards means Forest are in the market for another left wing back.

Sources claim that Forest are planning to sign Reguilon, with the idea of a loan move being floated.

There are three years left for Reguilon’s contract at Tottenham. A loan move with an option to buy is the most likely way for Reguilon to leave Tottenham now. Forest is striving for his future.
