Tottenham Hotspur have a powerful start to the 2022/23 Premier League campaign as they currently sit third in the table, winning four matches out of six in the top flight till now.

Central defender Eric Dier joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2014. He has been one of Spurs’ most consistent players. The 28-year-old has averaged a SofaScore rating of 7.07 in the league this season-ranking the sixth in the squad.

For the last 2021/22 season, Dier made 35 debuts in totol 38 matches, assisting the club to keep 16 clean sheets as he made 4.0 clearances per outing.

Although, Dier still has a lot more to contribute to the club, 19-year-old center-back Maksim Paskotsi could replace him as the English international enters his thirties.

Paskotsi joined the club in 2020 and has made 30 appearances for the academy teams, scoring 5 goals. He has already made his appearance in the first team squad after making his debut in a Europa Conference League qualifier in August 2021.

Football talent scout Jacek Kulig previously described him a “superb” centre-back and claimed that he is a similar type of player to Manchester United’s Raphael Varane. In his report on the youngster, Kulig listed his biggest strengths as his pace, ability in the air, and his anticipation, whilst describing him as ‘elegant’.

In two Nations League matches earlier this year, he averaged a SofaScore rating of 7.10 as he won 67% of his aerial battles and made 3.0 clearances per game for his country.

The 18-year-old is thought to be qualified to play regular senior football with his fantastic performances at both club side and international level.

If he can make the step-up under Conte’s lead, he could be the final heir to Dier.
